Aven & Oak began with a simple thought: the person choosing a mobile sees the room. The baby beneath it sees the mobile. It should be beautiful for both.

The beginning
The doorway was never the point.
Most nursery mobiles are chosen from the doorway. We did the same, until we lowered ourselves beside the cot and looked up. From there, the pretty details changed. Some shapes disappeared. Some colours became noise. The view that mattered most had barely entered the conversation.
That small shift in perspective became Aven & Oak: make the mobile for the child underneath it, then make it beautiful enough to belong in the room around them.
A mobile should earn its place twice.
First in the quiet moments when a baby watches shape, contrast and gentle movement. Then in the everyday life of the room, where it should feel considered rather than temporary.
That is why we favour tactile crochet, warm wood and movement created by the air around it. No motor competing for attention. No battery to replace. Just a small object made with care.

We chose a name that could hold two sides of childhood at once: the imagination that keeps reaching outward and the steadiness that makes home feel safe.
